The Andy Griffith Show
Most probably remember Andy Griffith the most from the older show that was a regular back in 1960. It was called the Andy Griffith Show and Andy starred in the show as the town sheriff. It was a small backwards type town that people just loved in that day and age. Long before the films of happenings in the big cities took over. The show took place in a quiet town in North Carolina named Mayberry. Andy was Sheriff Andy Taylor. He lived in Mayberry with Opie who was played by Ron Howard, and Aunt Bee played by Frances Bavier. Aunt Bee passed away Dec 6th 1989.
Andy Griffith
Andy must have lived most his life in North Carolina except maybe when he was filming a show. He was born in Mount Airy, North Carolina June 1, 1926 making him just turned 86 years of age. He was an American actor, a director, he was a producer and he even enjoyed singing as a Southern Gospel Singer. He actually Starred in a role on ‘A Face in the Crowd’ in 1957 before starring in ‘The Andy Griffith Show from 1960 to 1968. The latest show that many may remember him being a part of as a lawyer is ‘Matlock.’
Passes Away
Today, July 3rd, 2012, Andy left this world at the age of 86. America is sad at the lost of such a well known actor that felt like a best friend. He was at home when he passed which is in Manteo, North Carolina. It was during the morning hours. Andy has been laid to rest on an island he loved, Roanoke Island. America is sad at his lost. The President, Barack Obama and his wife both expressed how sad they were to hear of Andy’s death. For me, he was a big part of history and will be deeply missed.
