Randy, Paula and SimonThis season we will have a new judge, singer Kara DioGuardi who has joined Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. When the hit show returns in January there will be some changes according to the producers. The number of weeks of auditions will be cut from four to three and more contestants could be finding there way to Hollywood. Ken Warwick, executive producer said “wild card” finalists, who are picked by the judges, are being reintroduced.” “If something goes horrendously awry, the judges could fix it on the wild card show,” he said. There will be twelve finalist with nine of them chosen by audience voting. The judges will select three wild card finalists. The last series rating dropped by 7%, but the producer Ken Warwick has said that the changes have nothing to do with the drop in audience figures. Warwick also denied that Paula’s future with the show is questionable. She earlier this month criticised producers for igoring her concern about a stalkers apperance on the show. “There’s never been any discussion that we would want to get rid of Paula.” “I would definitely not put a dangerous person or person I thought was remotely dangerous in front of the judges,” he said. This will be the 8th series of the show which is also seen in the UK on ITV2. The show will start in January with a premiere of two nights and four hours long. David Cook won the last idol, who will win the next. Be sure to watch and vote for the next winner.
