Idol JudgesI really loved watching Ellen with the judges last year, but she never quite got comfortable with it. She didn’t like the part of the job where you tell a singer that they had things to work on, or that it was time to go back home.

“A couple of months ago, I let Fox and the ‘American Idol’ producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me,” she said last night in a statement.

Ellen’s decision to quit Idol puts them into a sticky situation. New York auditions are getting ready to start on Tuesday of next week.

During this past week, the Idol’s producers had thought about no longer keeping any of the present judges. They had considered hiring a whole new group to do this next season.

Simon has already left the show to start another show of his own called, “X Factor.” It is a talent show.

There are quite a few people being interviewed to replace Simon Cowell’s empty spot on the judges panel. Some big names have been considered, but it is questionable as to how the chemistry will work with the new judge and the rest of the panel.

Now with Ellen leaving the show, will Randy with a year left on his contract and Kara who has to re-sign her contract, be the next to go?

Will Ryan Seacrest be the only familiar face on Idol this year?
