Can seed sprouts in one’s lung?

fir treeThough it might sound impossible, but here is a stunning news that caught the attention of doctors and plant scientists. A Russian man who complained of chest pain went through an X-ray, which later revealed that what appeared to be a tumour on the X-ray was actually a mini fir tree. The doctor who conducted the operation was shocked to see a plant-like object embedded within the former’s lung. Further investigation confirmed that it was indeed a small fir tree.

Plant scientists beg to defer that the seed could sprout in one’s lung without the presence of sunlight. In addition, there are many other cofactors that were absence to trigger the sprouting mechanism. So…how is it that the plant could have gotten in the lung? It remains a puzzle to many.

While the question is left to debate, the russian man is glad that the ‘foreign object’ had been successfully removed from his lung and he is no longer troubled by his acute chest pain.
