On Thursday, if you were driving down the street pass the Brooklyn Engine Co 245 firehouse, you may have taken a second look. There were 4 firemen outside with hoses not putting out a fire or washing a fire truck, they were washing an elephant.
The firehouse had to shut down for about 30 minutes while they preformed the bathing of the elephant as the city ordered them to.
Suzie, the elephant was scrubbed and cleaned for her participation in the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus performance being held in Coney Island which is located in New York.
The firemen didn’t want to be included in the photo shoot of the ordeal, but once again they were told to do so by the city.
I really imagine they enjoyed the whole ordeal. The ten firemen who didn’t help out really missed out on a once in a lifetime thing. How many times do you get to give a real live elephant a bath?
