Snoopy At A Church Wedding

Every day we read news about pets and great love between them and their owners. Well, this is such story that will surely make you laugh! The dog Snoopy became a best man at his owners wedding. When Sue and Michael Hopkins decided to get married after 14 years together, they wanted their beloved pet to be an important part of their happiest day and after consultation with a vicar, they decided to make him their best man. This 11-year old lurcher wore their rings in a bag around his neck and he even finished the ceremony with the barking. The happy couple will even take their best men on their honeymoon, and therefore they have booked a room in a dog friendly hotel. Snoopy is really happy because he has owners that love him so much!

Bad Childhood

But, Snoopy did not have such a happy childhood. Hopkins rescued their best man from the animal center in 2001. His previous owners treated him badly, but fortunately, Snoopy was adopted by a family who loves him so much. Sue Hopkins said that Snoopy also helped her through many bad things that have happened in her life, like the death of her parents and sister.

Desire For Life

Snoopy also had some hard times while he was treated for a blood clot and pulled through. Then a week before the couple’s wedding he had an operation on his eye. He recovered from his surgery in time to wear a purple and lilac scarf on the big day, the same colour as the flowers and groom’s tie. Owners say that he is an old guy, but Snoop still has enough fire and desire for life so they hope that he will be with them for a long long time. Well, dear Snoopy, we also wish you that!
