In Brazil, at a slaughterhouse in the south eastern area, some men bearing guns and costumed as policemen entered and took over 100 tons of meat.
It is estimated by the local police that about 25 men were involved in the theft on Sunday. They made slaughterhouse workers heave the meat onto 3 trucks and then drove away with it.
According to police officer Jose Carlos Oliveira, there were 4 of the workers that the offenders took as hostages only to release them at a later time unharmed. The were released close to the slaughterhouse within the interior of the city of Valinhos.
Along with the meat, the offenders stole a safe, and a computer which contained the security camera pictures.
It is likely the the offenders had inside information about how the security system worked according to the police.
At this time, no one has been arrested.
