The tiny pink baby was spied in amongst an 80-strong elephant herd and has been captured on film in Botswana.
A wildlife cameraman photographed the infant once he spied it among a group of about 80 elephants in the Okavango Delta.
Experts think it is in all likelihood an albino, which is an highly rare find in African elephants.
Mike Holding, who spied the baby while shooting for a BBC wildlife program, said: "We only saw it for a few of minutes as the herd passed over the river."
The baby elephant appeared to be sheltering beneath its mother to protect itself from the sunlight.
"This was a really exciting moment for everyone in camp. We knew it was a rare sighting - no-one could believe their eyes."
