41 Year Old Found Dead
The family had been called in to check and see if the body of the man around 41 years of age was Gilberto Araujo, a family member. As they gazed upon the body, they felt it was indeed him. The man had been killed. The family had not seen him for many months.
The Funeral
There were many family members and friends attending Gilbert’s funeral. They were viewing his body for the last time and would lay him to rest for eternity later. I imagine there were many tears of anguish as they gazed upon him for the last time.
Guys, I Am Alive, Pinch Me
Now, imagine the reaction at the funeral when the person lying in the casket suddenly shows up. Gilberto had been walking down a street when a friend, who thought Gilberto had died, saw him. The friend was possibly on his way to Gilberto’s funeral or had already been there. The friend told Gilberto what was going on. I can only imagine Gilberto’s surprised look upon his face as he listened to his friend. Gilberto then went to his own funeral, or what was suppose to be his. There he found family and friends mourning his death. He walks in and says, ”Guys, I’m alive, pinch me.”
Many Fainted
Upon seeing the man whom they thought was lying in the casket alive and talking to them, many fainted. It was a rather frightening experience. Gilbert’s own mother was at the funeral. “It was a fright. … I’m very happy because what mother has a son that they say is dead then turns up alive?” she said. Gilberto had tried to call a friend who was at the funeral before showing up. He talked his friend and told him he was alive. The call was thought to only be a very bad prank. No one believed it to be true. Then Gilberto showed up. The body everyone thought was Gilberto has been returned to the morgue for identification. Hopefully they get it right this time but lucky for Gilberto, he is still alive.
