The term slapstick originated in renaissance Italy as Commedia del Arte and it was the precursor to slapstick - the slapstick was a stick with a loose piece of wood tied to the end that made a loud bang when you whapped an actor without - loads o laughs. It had a brief resurgence in 17th century France when Moliere rediscovered the medium and began creating new works in the same genre.

There is humanity in everyone afterall - even for car thieves. A Brazillian woman named Flavia Alcantara realised that someone tried to steal her car, but ended up leaving some money for her instead. How on earth did that happen? Well, all Alcantara did was, she left a note on the windscreen of her vehicle, telling the crooks that the car is not worth stealing. Written on the paper was some sentences which sounded: "Mr Robber, please do not steal this car. It has no batteries, no spare tyre. It is in bad shape. Thank you for your attention." As a result, an attempt which nearly took her car away from her had made her 40p richer. "The robber must have felt sorry for me," said the woman. Source: clumsycrooks
