Man in Jail for posing as his dead mom and cheating government
Thomas Prusik Perkin lost his mother six years ago. But still he kept her alive I the world, literally, by dressing up like her and claiming all her rent subsidies and many more. Thomas is accused of forgery of his mother’s signature in order to claim her social security deposits and also her rent subsidies from government.
The whole story began in 2003 during the last moments of Mrs Prusik’s death. In order to keep the government from knowing about her death Mr Prusik lied about the social security number and her date of birth to keep the story of her mother’s death. He himself dressed as his mother in an old wig with a helper and a walking stick and asked his nephew to accompany him to make it look more real as Mrs. Prusik was too old to be going around alone.
Finally the fraud has been exposed and both Mr. Prusik and his nephew are accused of forgery, theft and conspiracy against the US government. When asked why he attempted such a degrading act he replied “I felt my mom within me all the time, she held her during her last breaths and I sensed she wanted to be around me, so I kept her alive”.
The man isn’t even ashamed of what he did. Law will decide his fate.
