How can they keep a straight face?

Have you ever wondered just how a news anchor can keep a straight face while telling some of the news stories they broadcast. Sometimes the stories they tell are just too funny. Then there are the very sad ones that can make you cry. It seems like it’s sort of like when going to the doctor and they are preforming some sort of an exam you don’t care for, you let your mind travel to far away places.

Days long gone by

It did seem that years ago, you never saw a news anchor or weather person laugh. Everything had to be so serious. There was all fact and nothing but the fact in the news. If one messed up, it was a total embarressment on them and the station. I did smile at the mistake of the news anchor that repeatedly spoke of how President Obama had been killed when she was so be speaking of Osama Bin Laden being dead. She mentioned the presidents name quite a few times not realizing her mistake. I am sure the news station heard about that error from the President himself.

Now days the news is more entertaining

When I get up at 5am and turn on the early news each morning, I am welcomed by a group of very friendly, down to earth news anchors. The weather guy and the traffic guy pull off stunts in the grocery store trying to get the last loaf of bread before the big snowstorm hits. The traffic guy also puts on a lot of dances and stunts in the studio. He loves to dance with groups that come in to do a performance on the news that day. If any of the news anchors make a mistake, it is immediately made a joke of instead of seeing it come up on you tube later to laugh at. The news is much more entertaining and a joy to watch. When they make a mistake, I know what they meant to say. I love the news and patiently wait for the traffic guys latest stunt or the dance he is going to do today. News is fun.
