This isn’t something you really thought a thief would do. Go into the Fred Meyer store in Oregon on the day that children were shopping for school supplies with police officers.
There were 60 police officers in the store all wearing uniforms at the time of the theft.
The two thieves at first were said to be hesitant about completing their caper on that particular day, but then decided that having all the children in the store at the same time would keep the police officers attention focused on the children.
They didn’t figure on the security officers at the store. The officers witnessed the two men stuff backpacks with items that didn’t fall into the school supplies category. Blenders and tools were a few of the items as were clothing, shoes but no notebooks or pencils.
The event with the police and children shopping together happens on a special day noted as “Shop With a Cop.”
The two men were arrested.
