This Is Not A Halloween Story
What may sound like a Halloween story to many is not. Someone has stolen a SUV that was sitting outside a Walmart in Englewood Colorado on Thursday that had a scary cargo in it. If you stole the SUV, and haven’t yet looked into what may be in the back seat area of the SUV, you may not want to look.
Sounds A Bit Like ‘The Wizard of Oz’
The story sounds a little like ‘The Wizard of Oz’ when Dorothy kept repeating, lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Oh my is right. If the thief does take a look in the back seat there will be more than a oh my coming out of them. You may see them running down the road and never turning back. The cargo in the back of this SUV could be rather frightening to many.
What Is the Cargo
The reason why the owner, Phil Rakoci had to leave the SUV running while in the store was to keep the exotic animals inside the car alive. They needed to be kept warm. Phil, or “Wildman Phil” as many call him carries around exotic animals in his SUV that he uses to show children in educational programs. He likes to teach the kids about the creepy, crawling reptiles and other sorts of animals. He had many animals stored in gray tubes in the back of his SUV but there were others not in tubes. There was a African tortoise that had only 3 legs and weighs 50 pounds. Its name is Stumpy. Then there is a Burmese python that is a scary 13 feet long. Other animals are a rattle snake, five other types of snakes that are not poisonous, three scorpions, five lizards, two other turtles, one gecko and a tarantula.
Please Return Animals
Phil is only asking that his animals be returned unharmed. He doesn’t care what the thieves do with his car or his luggage, he just wants his animals back. His wish was granted when on Wednesday the SUV with the animals alive were found. Someone had parked the SUV and left it running. The police found it running buy no one inside. The animals were all alive and well.
